I'm a Dodger fan and was so glad to watch the game last night. The argument of whether this was the greatest game ever by any player will probably be debated ad nauseum. Others will point out he hit three homers while other ball players have hit four. They will point out Shohei was thrown out at third and was beat on a stolen base attempt and with a better tag he would have been out. Some may point out that other ball players made great plays in the field while Shohie was a DH. Finally Shohei's last home run was off a position pitcher and it's probable he wouldn't have had a third homer off a regular pitcher though we cant know. He could have walked, singled, flied out etc. He may have hit for the cycle. What was remarkable to me was how far he hit the last homer. It was 68 mph and he hit it in the upper deck. People can argue if it was the greatest game ever. I would gladly accept a MLB official ruling of third or fifty-third if I could have three of the following pitchers in this years postseason. Ryan, Glasnow, Stone, Banda and Ohtani. I'd rather see the Dodgers win the World Series. Awesome performance, let people debate the "greatest game." I hope he hits one completely out of the stadium either this weekend or in Colorado and I hope someone outside the stadium gets it on video. If not this monrh maybe next season.

Ohtani is a once in a generation talent for sure. But he has a long ways to go before he even gets close to the greats of the game. There is not a single DH in the HOF with only 222 career home runs or 857 career hits. There is not a single pitcher in the HOF with only 608 career strike outs. In sports you are not judged by a single game or a single season, you are judge by your whole career and Ohtani is 1/4 the way there.
