Everyone must not cope each other. I refer the iPhone stand alone and iPad stand alone. Foldable phones will soon go away.

To me, this only makes sense if, when open, it can have the same aspect ratio as an iPad, or 16:9. This allows you to take full advantage of the larger screen when watching YouTube/NetFlix/etc. If it's square when open, I don't see the point.

I never buy the first generation of technology but I'll look again on the third or fourth generations.

As someone who has training in IT and has had every foldable since the Samsung Fold 2, I'm looking forward to Apple attempting to launch one of these. Apple does not have the all essential and important ignorance on their side with this release. The majority of people are already aware that Foldables have been around for several years now. I believe and hope that this will be the day and the product launch that makes a lot of Apple fans finally start to wake up and smell of coffee and realize how far behind and how bad Apple actually is. Android people will be laughing and making fun of Apple people this time. I know this is an Apple video, so sorry to hit you Apple fans with the brutal and cold truth, but it is the truth. Apple is 8 years behind and has been for a very long time and they use Samsung screens anyway. This foldable iPhone will be using a Samsung screen as well. And don't try to give me the excuse of Apple is always late but they do it better because that is not true. That is a lie that Apple fans tell to make themselves feel better about being behind. The truth is that Apple does it basically the same way or a worse way than Samsung does, and if you want proof of that just look at Apple's first attempt to finally give the iPhone an always on display. With lack of multitasking on the iPhones I’m dubious of them adding it to a fold as the iPads multitasking isn’t as good as the Samsung folds.

iPhone Ultra will follow the the A4 aspect ratio - 1:1.41. This mathematical property means that when folding / unfolding, the shape stays the same. This cuts down the number of aspect ratios from 4 to 2, as a closed phone held in portrait mode is the same as an open phone in landscape mode (and vice versa). This gives a smoother user experience and developers only need to design 2 layouts instead of 4

I paid $1,625 with tax for my pixel fold 10 with pixel care and a official case. It's not worth the full price until the software matches.

No MagSafe no deal for me. MagSafe has been the best thing to happen to iPhones in years for me and not having it is not something I can live with. I do hope it does sell well and people buy them because once Apple sells something and sells a lot of them said product stops being niche and becomes mainstream

i hope they make it like a pocket book size not like a phablet size. Kinda like around the size of Surface Duo. Not too big, easy to hold and open with one hand but still big enough screen size.

I’m still not a fan of folding phones.

I’m trying to hold out for the fold. I want a larger screen, but am concerned about going back to the pro max version of iPhone. Hopefully the fold can solve the issue for wanting a device that’s nimble and portable when needed and a larger screen in the times that’s needed.

Any consumer with any sense won't buy this thing right away. It'll take months, if not longer, for Apple to get the software right. How many years have we waited for Apple to fix Siri, only to find out that they're in talks with Google to use Gemini instead?

At first I was a bit disappointed Apple wasn’t going to go to the typical fold route where when folded it would be like regular phone. Now seeing more and more of what the passport book style it’s growing on me. For one it’ll make it feel and look vastly different from all iPhones in the past. When folded it’ll be shorter than any iPhones from years past so if you miss those sizes it’s something to keep in mind plus when opened you get that near iPad mini form factor.

I've been waiting for the iPhone Fold for a long time, I switched from Apple to Samsung back in 2020. I was bored with iPhones and I've been using Samsung's Fold series for the last 6 years. Now that Apple is entering the foldable field, I'm excited to get my hands on their first foldable phone.

1st version and pay 2000 meh. Other phones are high price too but a few versions out to perfect it. A bit risky

AAPL is rarely first out on any new product or category (except iPhone, most notably) so I'm confident this first foldable will be excellent overall. The price really depends on the subsidy from the big cell phone providers. I think 17 was so popular in part of the new changes to it AND the subsidies (I was able to get my wife a 17 for free). I've enjoyed my iPad mini over the years and curious if finally, I can have this "Ultra" be the replacement of two devices which would make my iPad mini sad!

Apple was expected to release one 2 years ago when they went out of their way to show a piece of metal of the same dimensions a folding phone during the iPhone release.
