hands down if you dislike any of the yu-gi-oh series i say you aren't a true fan of it at all. nothing changes that should deter someone from any of the series. my personal preference though is this order. original yugioh (meaning both season 0 and 1) is my favorite. next is zexal(i don't care what you say. it is good). then GX(it takes thrid because i kinda wish i could have gone to a school like that T.T). and at the bottom is 5Ds for a few reasons but a main reason is i hate synchros.

yugioh is one of the most popular animes in japan! its no down at all! 5Ds is good but it doesnt give off like the name yu-gi-oh to me it feels right with the first yugioh. they try to make 5Ds to good, but it does beat GX. the original is the best and it will always be the best. I heard the 3 main from each yugioh is going to do a 3 way duel, idk if its true tho.

The original Yugioh started off with an interesting story, characters and a lot of different and unique games...eventually, they forgot about all the games and started using only the cards and that's my biggest problem with GX, 5DS and probably ZEXAL too...They forgot to add a story and instead created the show for the only purpose of creating and selling more new cards to childrens...

@EmilySlash I couldn’t agree with you more! I never actually finished the Yu-Gi-Oh series you are talking about. I got half way through season three and I just couldn’t take it anymore! For over 100 episodes, it was nothing but card games! There was hardly any character development, no (decent, believable) plot, and we really don’t get into Atem’s past, (which, in my opinion, is kind of the whole point of the series), until season 5, the last season! Season 0 is definitely the superior one!

Remember dude, Yu Gi Oh was original a 18+ horror story in the first 7 manga volumes. The Manga (original source) was very violent. It was thanks to Trading Cards that he had to tone down the violent. However, it still retained gore and horror element from the Shadow Game during some duel like when Jonouchi duel with Kid's minion in the middle of graveyard, how the monster killed each other or Mai vs Marik (That duel was VERY CRUELSOME in the manga)

GX is a SEQUAL of the original your laughing at the original if you hate GX, Zexal is good but not best

Yeah, I know that. But Anime does have some distinct artistic qualities about it. The most obvious of these are the shape and shene effects of both the eyes and hair. I guess these didn't technicaly stray extreamly far from these, but still, the quality of this vid makes them look a bit more american some how. (Plus the way they move is sort of mor invicitive of american cartoons.)

@littlebeak63BackUpAc I'm not going to say you have to watch it buy all means if it's not your taste but 5D's (coming from an older- original yugioh fan) is actually pretty good at least the japanese version. It has a more mature mindset- it's a nice spin off- and doesn't have anything to do with the original but none the less I wouldn't quite rule it out as harshly as GX and Zexal. If you're bored and have out watch the rest of Yugioh give it a try if you haven't already.

Yeah, the manga is alot better as it doesn't focus on the card games like the anime series does which I think is better. That was one thing that annoyed me with the anime series which was how one duel would be 5 episodes long and so many fillers.

this was a very well done series, they should have kept it going. The only problem i have with this series is i dont really like yugi's voice, Atem's I can handle, but Yugi's is wayyyy too high pitched.

If the art style of the was-continued Yu-Gi-Oh! was kept (i.e. the colours aren't so bold) but the storyline of this Yu-Gi-Oh was kept (as well as the voice actors for some characters, Miho's voice is just...) then I think it would be an even more amazing anime.. c: Also, Shadi's eye colour seems strangely fitting imo. : D

You are completely evil if you want the perfect, pure hearted, kind, sweet, and beautiful Miho Nosaka gone! She is much better as a main character and she is the reason this is the only canon version of all the series.

Season 0 is very dark but has a very light-hearted intro. Duel monsters isn't that dark but has such a depressing intro once you look at the lyrics.

no it isnt if you give it a chance it gets just as good as the original i have seen all the episodes of yugioh, yugioh gx, and 5ds and they are all very good exept i didnt like seasons 3 or 4 of yugioh that much

I think the reason why this Yu-Gi-Oh! series hasn't been English dub yet is because this series wouldn't align with the original Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters series due to character designs.
