Amazing stats, but given the icing on the cake was hit off of a non-pitcher means it's most definitely not "the greatest batting day of all time". Ty Cobb's May 5, 1925 day is better and was hit off of real pitchers, for example, and he was 38 when he did it too. Ohtani is a tremendously talented and entertaining player, no doubt, but let's cool it with the "greatest player of all-time" nonsense. He's got a LONG way to go before any baseball historian worth listening to will give him that honour. These last two seasons Ohtani has managed an OPS+ of an eye-watering 180+, which is outstanding. Babe Ruth, by comparison, touts an OPS+ of 206... for his CAREER. Bonus points for Ohtani seeming to be a true sportsman - humble but effective. Seems like a good representative for baseball.
